Have your cat tagged in oder to set your mind in rest. Attach a metal which carries your name and address to an elasticated or quick release collar, when anyone finding him can contact you immediately. Do not put your cat's name on the tag, as a theif could well use it to call him to entice him away. As a back up to the collar tag , you may wish to consider an identify chip. A microchip is inserted into the loose skin at the back of the neck when it can be scanned and a number exclusive to your cat then be read off on a display unit. All vets and animal rescue centres have the equipment to read these identichips and numbers are listed on a national data base, which will also hold the owners.
